Optimal solution for vacuum applications
Plunger Ring
- Made of hot work tool steel or copper, the plunger ring is softer than the inner side of the sleeve and has been specially developed to enhance contact and sealing. During injection, the ring opens due to the penetration of aluminium between the plunger body and ring and its own elasticity.
Spring Bush
- Made with soft steel which is softer than the inner wall of the sleeve, the spring bush (also referred to as the back ring), has been specially designed for vacuum applications. Due to its own elasticity during injection, the spring bush opens and ensures a vacuum.
Advantages over other plunger rings
Extended plunger and sleeve lifetime
- Plunger rings have a lower hardness than tips or sleeves. Compared to harder “scraper” rings produced by our competitors, HTS Plunger rings extend the lifetime of both, pistons and sleeves.
